Health Information Management (Bachelor of Science)

RN to BSN Degree Completion (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing RN to BSN program is designed for nurses who want to advance in a nursing career. The program is available completely online with students studying curriculum designed in accordance with the NLN Competencies for Nursing Graduates and QSEN Competencies. In order to apply for the program, students must hold an associates’ degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. They must also hold a current an unencumbered RN license. The program is 123-credit hours and students can complete the program in 24 months. They are able to use effective communication and employ clinical judgments based on evidence-based practice. Students are able to identify accountability and ensure safe, quality patient care. They are also able to synthesize available resources and select competent care concepts for individuals across their lifespan.
Health Systems Management (Master of Science)
Students who complete the Master of Science in Health Systems at Grantham University are prepared to analyze information needs, design solutions and manage information in a healthcare setting. Enrollees must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in computer or information systems. They may also apply if they hold a bachelor’s degree and two-to-four years computer systems experience. The program is 37-credit hours and can be completed in as little as 24 months. Students learn to manage healthcare information systems development projects designed to meet health administration needs. They also develop the skills to report and support capabilities used in healthcare decisions while ensuring information policy consistent with clinical, ethical, legal and financial requirements of healthcare institutions.
Healthcare Administration (Master of Healthcare Administration Degree Program)

Master of Science in Nursing – Education Specialization
Students who complete the Master of Science in Nursing with an Education Specialization are prepared for emerging trends in nursing education in both the academic and healthcare setting. They explore trends in human diversity, social issues, leadership, management, disease prevention, health promotion, and research. The program builds on the BSN degree, highlighting tenure, promotion, governance, academic freedom and ethics related to nursing education. Students complete a Capstone project as part of a final research seminar.
About Grantham University
Grantham University was founded in 1951 with the main campus in Southern California as part of the university movement in the late 20th century. The founder of the university, World War II veteran Donald Grantham, understood how the GI Bill would transform colleges in the United States. Initially, the school was known as the Grantham Radio License School, but the name was soon changed to Grantham School of Electronics.
In 1955, campuses opened in Washington DC and Hollywood, California, with Seattle, Washington, and Kansas City, Missouri, soon following. A second campus was established in Los Angeles in 1974. In 1968, the name of the school changed to Grantham College of Engineering. As the college grew, it developed distance education programs. That same year, the school combined activities to one Los Angeles location and offered distance only programs. In 1971, the campus moved to Falls Church, Virginia. All campus classes ended in 1976 and the school focused solely on distance education. In 1977, Grantham College of Engineering was the only college offering an accredited Bachelor of Science in Electronics through distance learning.
In 1993, Grantham moved to Louisiana and, in 2002, the school became Grantham University. After the campus was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the school relocated to Kansas City, Missouri.

Grantham University Accreditation Details
Grantham University is accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Accreditation provides public recognition to an institution that meets standards set by the accrediting agency. Accreditation confirms to parents, students and employers that the school operates on a sound financial basis, has approved curriculum, adequate facilities and equipment, as well as approved recruitment and admissions policies. Grantham is also recognized by the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements.
Business degrees are accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education, while engineering programs are accredited by the Engineering Technology Commission of ABET. The College of Nursing is a candidate for accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing and project management programs are approved by the Project Management Institute.
Grantham University Application Requirements
In order to apply for programs at Grantham University, undergraduate students must provide official high school transcripts. They must also complete a Participation and Substantive Interaction. A funding plan must be in place within seven days of the start of the term or registrations are canceled. Some programs have additional enrollment requirements, so students are encouraged to speak to an admission counselor before applying.
Graduate applicants must have an undergraduate GPA of 2.5 or higher. They must provide official copies of all colleges or universities attended. One transcript must display the conferring of a bachelor’s degree or higher.
Grantham University Tuition and Financial Aid
Undergraduate tuition at Grantham University is $265 per credit hour and graduate tuition is $325 per credit hour. Military and veteran tuition is $250 per credit hour. Financial aid is available in the form of scholarships, grants, and loans. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to qualify for assistance. They also must renew the FAFSA each year to remain eligible.
Grantham University began offering online and distance education many years before other colleges and universities. Their programs are specifically designed for working adults who may have obstacles that prevent them from attending traditional classes.
